Leadership Congreso Election Day

Leadership Congreso (Student Council) elections are coming soon to EPLA! This is an opportunity for scholars to lead and represent the campus as well as organize projects that impact our school and community.

If your scholar is interested in running for grade representative, please review and complete the candidate form and return it into Mr. Casillas no later than Friday, August, 31 to be listed on the ballot. Copes are available with an advisory teacher and at the front office.

Leadership Congreso (LC) Overview
LC will be made up of 6 Elected Grade Representatives/Team Leaders as well as scholars who wish to participate in the following Teams:

  • CRSHH Store, Spirit Weeks, and Dances
  • Energy & Environment
  • Community Service
  • Safety & Health

LC will meet, at a minimum, every Monday after school from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m.
LC will have opportunities to travel for local and regional leadership workshops, conventions, and socials.
LC will be invited to serve as EPLA ambassadors for community outreach events.
LC members should be positive examples to their peers. Elected Grade Representatives who receive more than one Delta in a semester, receive failing grades, or other conduct not aligned with the Student Handbook, may be removed from office at the discretion of administration.

Elections
Any scholar is eligible to run for office.
Candidate Forms must be completed, signed, and turned in by Friday, August 31.
Campaigning will begin on Tuesday, September 4 and ends Friday, September 7.
Election Day is Friday, September 7. Results will be announced Monday, September 10.

Campaign Rules
Campaigns should demonstrate how the candidate would be a great leader to represent their grade and provide a project idea for one of the above teams.
All campaign posters must be approved by campus administration: Mr. Benitez, Mr. Casillas, Mr. Morales, or Mr. Diaz.
Any negative campaigning or negative conduct towards another candidate will result in immediate disqualification.
